Guest bath with a carved vanity

Small rooms take the strongest choices, because there is not enough wall to dilute them.

A dark, heavily detailed vanity under a pale stone top, with open pipe shelving worked into the wall.

A guest bath gives you very little square footage, so the decision was to lean into it rather than lighten everything and hope the room felt bigger. The vanity is dark and heavily carved, and the pale stone top above it does the work of keeping the corner from closing in.

Pipe shelving was set into the return wall to buy storage that no cabinet would have fitted, and the mirror was framed and oversized to bounce the vanity lighting back across the room.
