Espresso kitchen with a quartzite island
Dark shaker cabinetry set against a pale quartzite island, built so the room reads warm rather than heavy.

Completed
2018
A quartzite vanity top, oil-rubbed bronze fixtures and a framed mirror, built as a room to slow down in.
The vanity top and the matching splashback were cut from the same pale quartzite, so the veining carries straight up the wall instead of stopping at the counter. Oil-rubbed bronze fixtures were chosen against it deliberately, because the contrast is what keeps a light stone from disappearing into a light wall.
Underneath the finishes sits the part that decides how long the room lasts. Waterproofing, substrate and drainage were specified and installed to Schluter Systems standard, which is the difference between tile that holds and tile that has to come off in ten years.
Every project on this page was designed, fabricated and installed by our own team.
